Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully defended their IPL crown by defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Chasing a target of 156 runs, RCB delivered a composed batting performance, reaching 161/5 in just 18 overs to secure their second consecutive Indian Premier League title and further strengthen their legacy in the tournament.

The star of the final was Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 75 runs from 42 deliveries. Kohli anchored the chase brilliantly and guided his side to victory in a pressure-filled title clash. His outstanding innings earned him the Player of the Match award.

Earlier, RCB's disciplined bowling unit restricted Gujarat Titans to 155/8 in their 20 overs. Rasikh Dar led the bowling attack with three wickets, while the rest of the bowlers maintained tight control throughout the innings. Despite a fighting half-century from Washington Sundar, Gujarat Titans were unable to post a challenging total.

With this triumph, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have etched their name into the IPL record books. RCB became only the third franchise in IPL history to win back-to-back championships.

Previously, Chennai Super Kings achieved the feat by winning consecutive titles in 2010 and 2011, while Mumbai Indians repeated the achievement in 2019 and 2020.

RCB have now joined this elite club by lifting consecutive IPL trophies in 2025 and 2026, marking a historic milestone for the Bengaluru-based franchise and further cementing their status among the most successful teams in IPL history.
