Coimbatore Heavy Vehicle Restrictions from August 17: New Peak-Hour Timings Announced
Coimbatore will introduce heavy vehicle entry restrictions from August 17 to reduce peak-hour traffic congestion and improve road safety. Restrictions will apply during morning and evening peak hours.

Coimbatore is set to introduce new time restrictions on the entry of heavy vehicles into the city from August 17. The measure is aimed at reducing traffic congestion during peak hours and improving road safety for commuters and other road users.
Under the revised restriction, heavy vehicles will face entry controls from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the morning and from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the evening.
The restriction is intended to reduce the movement of heavy vehicles during busy periods when traffic volumes are typically high. Authorities expect the measure to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and minimise delays on major roads across the city.
The initiative also focuses on improving road safety by reducing the interaction between heavy commercial vehicles and large volumes of passenger traffic during peak hours.
Heavy vehicle operators and transport companies travelling into Coimbatore are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and avoid entering restricted areas during the specified periods.
The new restrictions are expected to strengthen traffic management in Coimbatore and contribute to smoother, safer, and more efficient movement of vehicles across the city.
