Tamil Nadu Government Employees to Receive September Salary Early on September 25
Tamil Nadu government employees, teachers and state government pensioners will receive their September 2026 salary and pension early on September 25 due to the upcoming bank strike.

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has ordered the early disbursement of September 2026 salaries and pensions for government employees, teachers and state government pensioners in view of the nationwide bank employees’ strike scheduled from September 28 to 30.
According to the order, the September salary and pension payments will be credited on Friday, September 25, 2026, instead of being processed toward the end of the month.
September 26 and 27 fall on Saturday and Sunday respectively, followed by the three-day bank employees’ strike from September 28 to 30. The advance payment has been arranged to avoid possible difficulties or delays in processing salaries and pensions during this period.
The Tamil Nadu Finance Department and Treasury and Accounts Department have been instructed to submit the necessary salary and pension bills in advance and make arrangements for electronic fund transfers.
As a result, Tamil Nadu government employees and teachers, along with eligible state government pensioners, are expected to receive their September payments on September 25, ahead of the usual month-end payment schedule.
The early disbursement is intended to ensure that government employees and pensioners receive their payments without disruption caused by the combination of the weekend holidays and the scheduled bank strike.
