India produced a sensational batting performance in the second ODI against West Indies in Guwahati, chasing down a massive target of 406 runs in just 43.3 overs to win by eight wickets.

West Indies posted 405/7 in 50 overs after centuries from John Campbell (101), Shai Hope (104) and Amir Jangoo (114). Their total put India under pressure with a challenging target of 406 runs.

India, however, responded in spectacular fashion. Captain Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 223, smashing his second ODI double century. Gill's innings included 26 fours and eight sixes, as he dominated the West Indies bowling attack throughout the chase.

India eventually reached 406/2 in 43.3 overs, completing their highest successful run chase in men's ODI cricket.

The victory also gave India an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-match ODI series, securing the series with one match still to play.
