India Seal ODI Series with Commanding 170-Run Victory Over Afghanistan
India clinched the ODI series against Afghanistan with a dominant 170-run win, powered by centuries from Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan.

India secured a comprehensive 170-run victory over Afghanistan in the second One-Day International on Wednesday, clinching the three-match series with an unassailable 2-0 lead.
After being put in to bat, India posted a mammoth total of 402 runs in 49.5 overs. Afghanistan, in response, were bowled out for 232 runs in 44.3 overs, handing India a convincing series-winning triumph.
India's innings was built around two outstanding centuries from Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan. Gill produced a magnificent knock of 154 runs, smashing 22 boundaries and two sixes, while Kishan played an explosive innings of 125 runs that included 14 fours and seven sixes. Their brilliant batting display laid the foundation for India's huge total.
Captain Rohit Sharma contributed a quick 48 runs with six boundaries and two sixes, while Shreyas Iyer added 26 and Washington Sundar chipped in with 19. The remaining batters failed to make significant contributions, but India's top order had already ensured a formidable score.
For Afghanistan, Nangeyalia Kharote was the standout bowler with four wickets, while Rashid Khan claimed three. Ghazanfar and Mohammad Saleem picked up one wicket each.
Chasing a daunting target, Afghanistan struggled to build partnerships despite some resistance from their top and middle order. Rahmat Shah top-scored with a fighting 79, including eight boundaries. Sediqullah Atal contributed 42 runs with five fours and a six, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 41 runs featuring seven boundaries and a six.
Ibrahim Zadran added 21 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to provide meaningful support as wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.
India's bowlers completed the job efficiently, with Arshdeep Singh and Harnoor Brar claiming three wickets each. Debutant Prince Yadav impressed with two wickets, while Washington Sundar chipped in with one as Afghanistan were dismissed for 232.
The emphatic victory highlighted India's dominance with both bat and ball, securing the ODI series with one match still to play and continuing their impressive run in international cricket.
