India have booked their place in the men's cricket final at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Sri Lanka by a massive 124 runs in the semifinal in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Batting first, India posted 169/7 in 20 overs, with Ishan Kishan producing a brilliant unbeaten knock of 80 runs from 46 balls. His innings provided the foundation for India's competitive total after the team lost wickets during the middle overs.

Chasing 170, Sri Lanka struggled against India's powerful bowling attack and were bowled out for just 45 runs in 9.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma claimed two wickets each as India's bowlers completely dominated the Sri Lankan batting lineup.

India's 124-run victory secured their place in the gold-medal match, where they will face Pakistan. The men's cricket final is scheduled for October 3.

India entered the tournament as the defending Asian Games champions, having won the men's cricket gold medal at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. The team will now look to defend its title in the final against Pakistan.
