Gujarat Titans defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets in an IPL match held in Lucknow. After winning the toss, Gujarat opted to bowl first and delivered a strong all-round performance to secure victory.
Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants posted a total of 164 for 8 in their 20 overs. Aiden Markram was the top scorer with 30 runs off 21 balls, including five boundaries and a six. Nicholas Pooran added 19 runs, while Rishabh Pant, Abdul Samad and Mukesh Choudhary contributed 18 runs each. George Linde scored 16 runs.
For Gujarat Titans, Prasidh Krishna delivered an outstanding bowling performance, picking up 4 wickets for 28 runs in his 4 overs. Ashok Sharma took two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada claimed one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 165, Gujarat Titans reached the total in 18.4 overs with 7 wickets in hand. Opener Sai Sudharsan was dismissed early for 15 runs, but captain Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler built a strong partnership that turned the game in Gujarat’s favor.
Gill scored a composed 56 off 40 balls, including six boundaries and a six, while Buttler played an aggressive innings of 60 runs off 37 balls, hitting 11 boundaries. Washington Sundar remained unbeaten on 21, and Rahul Tewatia added 10 runs to guide the team to victory.
For Lucknow, Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav and Digvesh Singh Rathi picked up one wicket each. With this win, Gujarat Titans registered their second victory in four matches in the ongoing IPL season.
